Railroad rail.
The rail used on a railroad is reckoned by weight at so much per yard (3 feet).
Thus, a 60-pound rail weighs 60 pounds to the yard, an 80-pound rail 80 pounds to the yard, and
so on. The customary length of a rail is 30 feet.
